Effects of N Fertilizer on the Amount of Chlorophyll and Carbohydrate in Dryland Wheat Leaf and the Relationship between N Fertilizer and Wheat Yield

Effects of N fertilizer on the amount of chlorophyll and carbohydrate in dryland wheat leaf were studied. The result showed that the application of N fertilizer to dryland wheat could enlarge wheat leaf area, thus increasing the amount of chlorophyll, carbohydrate and soluble sugar. The level of such increases was directly proportional to the level of nitrogen. Under lower fertility conditions, the fertilization with the appropriate amount of nitrogen in this area could increase wheat yield and enhance wheat drought resistance.
