Suitability of desert resort development in North China

WANG Wenrui,WU Guanghe(College of Earth and Environmental Science of Lanzhou University,Lanzhou 730000,P.R.China)  
The factors impacting on desert resort development are mainly focused on dune form,scale,climate,attraction resource's combination and accessibility.As the attraction resources of desert resort,the dune form has distinct influence on resort development because of more high of dune and more attractiveness,but the scale of desert region has few of influence on resort.The suitable season of desert resort on the southern of China is lasting about four months from May to August which matches the tourism peak season at north China.The combination of desert with other attraction such as lakes,rivers,vegetations,folk-customs,history heritages and modern engineerings will upgrade the attraction ability.Most of developing desert resorts distribute at the edge of desert regions,but there are the trends of expanding into the desert hinterland.There are more similar projections construction in the desert resorts of southern China so that the competitions among the desert resorts become the outstanding problem in those resort tourism development.
