Water consumption characteristics of several shrubs in Kubuqi desert

Based on the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum(SPAC) theories,by making use of the whole tree container actual measurement and Penman-Monteith estimation,we researched the transpiration characteristics and affecting factors for Salix Psammophila,Elaeagnus angustifolia,Caragana microphylla Lam and Atripldex canescens,which are main forestation species in Kubuqi desert.The results show as follows:1.The value of steady pore measurement is always more than value of weighing whole tree measurement.Two kinds of measurement values all rise when the soil water increases.The phenomenon explains that the soil mosture influences the two measurement methods.2.Form the simulative result of Penman-Monteith amendatory equation,we can find out that accurately measuring the eliminate light coefficient and leaf area index is the key for enhancing precision.3.The sequence of four shrub's transpiration value is that Salix Psammophila Elaeagnus angustifolia Caragana microphylla Lam Atripldex canescens.The monthly transpiration is discrepant between different woods.The transpiration amount from June to August can take 70 ~ 80% of the whole growth season.The max transpiration amounts of Salix Psammophila,Elaeagnus angustifolia and Atripldex canescens appear in July.The max transpiration amount of Caragana microphylla Lam appears in June.
