UG-based 3D Parametric Design of Helical Gears by Swept Molding Method

The swept molding method, a universal 3D parametric design method for helical gears, is presented. By using the related functions of UG software, the transverse and normal profiles of helical gear are generated, and the profile surface is formed by swept along the helix, the single tooth is generated by clipping a molding body, then the complete teeth are obtained through Boolean calculation, finally, the computer aided 3D molding of the helical gear is realized.
