The Characteristics of the Cutting Force and Temperature When Machining Nickel-base Alloys

In the Paper,the charaCteristics of the cutting force and temperature when new ceramic cutting tools are used to machine nickel-base alloys are investigated. Results show that, under the experiment condition, higher cutting temperature exists and moron ripidly with the increase of cutting speed, thus, coolant must be aplied when cuttins nickel-base alloys. On the basis of the cutting speed range related to the minimium cutting force due to the influence of the inflection point of the yield strength of Inconel 718 at high temperature, the resonable cutting speed can be decided.
