Trade Diversion Effects of EU-to-China Antidumping:An Empirical Analysis Based on Product Classification

LIU Zhong-li CAO Jie
After an empirical analysis of EU-to-China antidumping based on product classification, this paper finds that chemical products, steel products and minerals suffered deeper from EU antidumping than electrical equipment and tex-tiles.However,all products except minerals show inconsistency between trade di-version effects and antidumping intensity. The reasons of this generally include: product competitiveness, excessive export speed, relative low export prices,differ-ence in trade dependency,etc..Finally,the paper finds that all the effective ways for our export enterprises to avoid the risk of anti-dumping should be considered based on both trade diversion effects and antidumping intensity.
