Development Stages and Characteristics of China-US Tea Trade

The United States is a large tea import and consumption country in the world,and a major importer of Chinese tea at the same time.In the past 300 years,the US—China tea trade went through the stages of rising,thriving and decline.In 1640 s,there began China—US trade tea trade.Before the War of Independence,the trade was under the manipulation of the British colonial authorities.After the Independence War,there rose the China —US tea trade,later tea trade has gone through rapid development and prosperity.Decline came in the early 20 th century,and eventually completely discontinued.After the improvement of China —US relations in 1972,the tea trade between the two countries resumed and developed.Different stages of development of China—US tea trade reflects different historical features.Understanding these is helpful for the expanding of US—China tea trade in the future.
