The Electron Microscopic Cytochemistry Study of Acid Phosphatase and Alkaline Phosphatase in the Mantle of Scallop Chlamys Farreri

The acid phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase in the mantle of scallop Chlamys farreri were studied by cytochemical localisation with electron microscope All of the epithelial cells and a part of haemocytes in the connective tissue of the mantle present strong ACP positivity Most of the positive granules with high electron density in the epithelial cells are round and the diameter are 300~450nm The endoplasmic reticulum in the epithelial cells present strong ACP positivity too The microvilli are weakly positive of ACP There are different number and sized strong ACP positive granules in the secondary lysosomes of the haemocytes The endoplasmic reticulum in the haemocytes are weakly positive of ACP All of the epithelial cells and haemocytes in the connective tissue of the mantle present strong AKP positivity The AKP are located on plasma membrane, along which distribute granules of high electron density scatteringly The endoplasmic reticulum present strong AKP positivity A kinds of strong AKP positive granules approximate round in the cytoplasm of the epithelial cells are about 250~420nm in diameter
