Study and Application of Chromogenic Reaction of 5,7-dibromo 〔calix(4)arene〕-aminoquinoline with Pd(Ⅱ)

A new color reagent of 5,7-dibromo〔calix(4)arene〕aminoquinoline(DBCAQ)was synthesized.The product was checked by infrated spectroscopy,elemental analysis and thin layer chromatography.The optimum condition for the color reaction of DBCAQ and Pd(Ⅱ) was studied.In the presence of nonionic surfactant Tween-80 and in buffer solution of pH=5 0 HAc-NaAc,Pd(Ⅱ) reacts with DBCAQ to form a stable complex with n DBCAQ ∶n Pd(Ⅱ) =1∶1.A new spectrophotometric method for the determination of Pd(Ⅱ) has been established.The system can keep stabilizing at least 10 hours.The maximum absorption is at 680nm with molar absorptivity of 8 26×10 4L/mol·cm.Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0~35μg/25ml for Pd(Ⅱ).The method has been applied to the determination of Pd in palladium catalysts.The results are in agreement with those provided by AAS.
