Study on the Dust Catching Property of the Campus Plants in Guiyang University

SHI Deng-hong;HUANG Jing;YANG Ai-ling;TONG Lin;WEI Feng-you;Biological and Environmental Engineering of Guiyang University;  
Dust retention effect of 6 plant species were tested and analyzed inGuiyang University,the tree dust retention abilities were compared in different functional areas. The results showed than there were obvious differences among the plants tested. Ligustrum quihoui,Loropetalum chinense var. rubrumand Pittosporum tobira was proved the most effective for the dust retention as compared with other arbor species,and laid dust strongly. It was most largest dust retention of per unit leaf area. The dust retention capacity of the arbor increased with time during a certain time,and the shrub decrease. The dust retention effects of the same plant in different areas were different significantly. It suggest that was planted in the construction of campus greening with arbor,shrub,grass of reasonable matching,and elected for growth of loca of greening tree species,and the priority of dust catching property strongly.
