Analysis of Seismic Response of River to Nearby Structure Under Different Geological Conditions

In order to study the seismic behavior of structures close by a river and the effect of river on a structure,by time domain numerical method,this paper analyzes three interaction systems composed of soil,river and structure using three seismic waves suitable for soft sites,medium soft sites and medium hard sites.The result of calculation shows that,when structure closes the river,the total displacement at the top of a superstructure increases obviously.On a soft site,the displacement brought by movement and swing of foundation is bigger than on a medium soft site and medium hard site.On the total acceleration response at the top of superstructure,the softer the soil is,the bigger the component produced by movement and swing of the foundation willbe,but the smaller the component produced by the elastic deformation of the top of the structure will be.
