In this paper,in order to study the effects of rare element Yb3+doping on the magnetic properties of nickel ferrite,we used the hydrothermal method with the deionized water as the solvent,and nickel nitrate(Ni(NO3)2·6H2O),iron nitrate(Fe(NO)3·9H2O),ytterbium nitrate(Yb(NO3)3·5H2O),sodium hydroxide(NaOH)as the raw materials.X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)and transmission electron microscope(TEM)were used to characterize the components and morphosis qualitatively and quantitatively.Researches indicates that rare earth element ytterbium doping can reduce grain size of the nickel ferrite powder.Magnetic dilution effect of the magnetic moment of rare earth ions leads to the reduction of the saturation magnetization of nickel ferrite magnetic nano-materials,and the gradual increase of the doping amount,which results in the decrease of the saturation magnetization and coercive force of the samples.
