Core competitiveness of China's higher education:definition and promotion strategies

Competitiveness is an ability necessary for any entity in the modern market.Experiences in the past few years have it that this is particularly true of China's businesses and higher education institutions for their sustaining development.This paper mainly discusses the defining of the core competitiveness of China's higher education in terms of its connotation,denotation,features and underpinning factors in the context that higher education in China has been developing rapidly since China's entry of World Trade Organization and that China's higher education is faced with challenges resulting from globalization and China's practice of market economy.Strategies for promoting the core competitiveness of China's higher education institutions are also discussed.
