The construction and practice of a new curriculum system for finite element method in mechanical engineering

Finite element method(FEM) is a necessary analysis tool for mechanical engineering and a basic subject for undergraduate studies.To reach the mechanical engineering teacher training goal,four innovation schemes are proposed in this paper,which include the construction of a new curriculum content system,the compilation of new teaching materials,the development of new CAI courseware and teaching software,and the exploration of new research fields.Then the proposed curriculum system of finite element method for mechanical engineering is established,which has the characteristics of the whole optimization and structural reasonability.The new curriculum system is suitable for student to polish omni-directional quality,such as the abilities of overall mastery of the theoretical knowledge and to develop abilities of knowledge,engineering analysis,the power of thought,etc.Feedback from teaching practice indicated that the comprehensive abilities of the undergraduate students have been strengthened through the proposed innovation.
