A Study on Control Criterions of Settlement for Widening of Fo-kai Expressway on Soft Ground

Relying on the widening of Fo-Kai Expressway on soft ground test section,the settlement and deformation rules of new and old embankment are analyzed under the load of widening embankment.On the basis of the rules,according to the road performance and the requirement of deformation and stabi-lity of the new and old embankment,combined with the field observation data,the settlement control criterions of the widening of expressway on soft ground are researched.The studies show that the control criterions of the widening project on soft ground should use "three indexes": the allowed transverse slope change rate of existing road during the widening embankment construction,the allowed transverse slope change rate during the post-construction of the new and old embankment,the allowed post-construction settlement of the widening embankment.
