Development of Intermetallics/Al_2O_3,TiC Ceramics Based on Composites

The recent studies of Intermetallics/Al_ 2 O_ 3 and TiC ceramics based on the composites are introduced,especially the relations among techniques,structure and properties as well as the mechanism of strengthening and toughening.Some problems,the possible solutions and current development are also presented.Intermetallics/ceramics matrix composite (I/CMC) can be prepared through powder metallurgy or in-situ by pure element or compound.Intermetallics/Al_ 2 O_ 3 -TiC ceramics matrix composites by in-situ from ilmenite will be one of the present development.
