Investigation of needs for health education in convalescent inpatients with schizophrenia

Objective: To identify the needs for health education in convalescent inpatients with schizophrenia in order to provide high quality and individualized health education. Methods: Sixty inpatients with schizophrenia were investigated, using self-developed Questionnaire of Health Education Survey. Results: The most important need was discharge guide(3.9549±0.2641), next were need for psychological rehabilitation(3.7923±0.3753), activity of daily living and social ability(3.5860±0.4513), knowledge related to disease(3.1596±0.6501) and education method(2.9875±0.8964). Conclusion: The findings could direct health education for convalescent patients with schizophrenia by making individualized health education plan and providing high quality and effective health education.
