Analysis on acoustic characteristics of exhaust muffler

It is mainly for analyzing automotive exhaust noise,and the exhaust noise is the main noise source of vehicle engine and it belongs to the low frequency noise,at present the analysis of the exhaust noise is difficult to form accurate theoretical results.The thought plane wave theory and threedimensional numerical method were used to calculate the transmission loss of simple expansion chamber muffler under different structural parameters,using three-dimensional modeling software SOLIDWORKS and professional acoustic software SYSNOISE to analyze the simple expansion chamber muffler's acoustic performance,the noise performance was evaluated.Within a certain range,when the expansion ratio increases,the transmission loss will also increase,but when expansion ratio exceeds a certain range,it will produce incentive noise again,which forms a negative effect.Expansion chamber's length has little effect,but it determines the frequency characteristic.Within a certain range,the influence of insert tube length on the transmission is considerable.
