Research on Crack Progression of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement

Cracking positions are the weakest part of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement,and crack spacing and crack width are the two control indexes.By long time observations to the cracks of two continuously reinforced concrete pavement with different reinforcing bar layout,the main crack type、crack formation、crack parameters and the progression law of these parameters are analyzed.It was found that transversal cracks are the main crack type,except for the regular cracks,many cluster cracks and Y cracks were also found.Cracks can be represented by crack spacing、crack width and crack length,all these parameters vary with reinforcing bar layout,end-anchorage,observation temperature and observation time.Correlative research conclusions can supply valuable references for active crack control and optimize design of CRCP.
