Numerical Simulation of Gas-Solid Two Phase Flow in Tangential Firing Boilers

In this paper, a nonstaggered finite control volume on the base of SIMPLE algorithm and the Random Particle-Trace model have been developed and used to analyze thegas-solid two phase flow in a boiler. With this means, the relative diameter, the twirle strengthand the trace of the particle in the boiler are predicted. A comparison between numerical andexperimental results shows that the turbulent flow in a boiler can be precisely simulatedwith this numerical method. The numerical result is helpful for the design and running of thetangential firing boilers.
