Objective:To analyze the expression pattern and significance of myeloid cell leukemia sequence-1(Mcl-1)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and liver cirrhosis(LC)tissues. Methods: Immunohistochemical method was employed to detect the expressions of Mcl-1in 50cases of HCC, 50cases of LC and 50controls respectively.Their relationships with the clinicopathological haracteristics of HCC were investigated.Results:Mcl-1expression increased was higher in LC group and HCC group than that in the control group(P0.05);There was significant correlation between Mcl-1expression and tumor diameter,Edmonson grade, intrahepatic metastasis recurrence and vein invasion(P0.05).There were significant difference of the survival time between the patients with high Mcl-1expressions and low Mcl-1expressions(P0.05).Multi-faetoranalysis showed that the expression of Mcl-1,tumor size and serum AFP value were independent factors affecting the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma patients.Conclusion:Over-expression of Mcl-1may beinuvolued in the genesis and progression of HCC,and affect the prognosis of liver cancer patients.
