Progress and Prospect of Iron-Base Shape Memory Alloys

Iron-base shape memory alloys have attracted considerable interest due to their good shape memory effects (SME),low cost and excellent workability.In this contribution,the research history of iron-base shape memory alloys is reviewed.Their developments and applications are introduced.The present situations of iron-base shape memory alloys,which are extensively studied by scientists at 1990's internationally,are provided in details.The orientation of further development of these alloys is discussed.
