Preparation and characteristic of Fe_xS_y/TiO_2 composite material film

TiO_2 films were prepared by sol-gel method. Fe_xS_y particles were fabricated on the surface of TiO_2 by decomposing Fe[CS(NH_2)_2]~(2+) in sulfur atmosphere. The characteristics of the Fe_xS_y particles prepared under different conditions were examined by means of XRD, SEM, TEM and EDS. As annealing temperature is 550℃, the phases of TiO_2 and FeS_2 are anatase and pyrite respectively. As annealing temperature is 400℃, the phase of Fe_xS_y is greigite (Fe_3S_4). The Fe_xS_y particles cover the porous film of TiO_2. The average size of Fe_xS_y particles range from 5000nm to 20nm as the concentration of the starting solution decreasing. After five times of coating-annealing process, Fe_xS_y particles form aggregate in size of 10μm. The visible optical absorption of the film increases with increasing annealing time, coating-annealing time and concentration of the starting solution.
