The growth of Cd_(1-x)Zn_xTe single crystal with descending crucible method in three-temperature-zone furnace

Cadmium Zinc Telluride(CZT) crystal is a room temperature nuclear radiation detector material with excellent properties.During the growth of CZT crystal,the temperature distribution of the furnace is very important for the structure and performance of the crystal.According to the attributes of CZT growth,Three-temperature-zone furnace was designed to grow CZT single crystal.The as-grown crystal was characterized by using X-ray diffraction,IR transmission microscopy,etch pit density(EPD) and electric property measurement.It was found that the transmission of the crystal was up to 61% in the range from 4000 to 500cm-1,EPD was about 104cm-2,and the resistivity was 109-1010Ω·cm.The results showed that the three-temperature-zone method is efficient for the growth of high quality CZT crystal for room nuclear radiation detector.
