Damping Capacity of Pure Magnesium Matrix Composite

A new kind of metal matrix composite with the matrix of pure magnesium and the reinforcements of hybrid SiC p and Al 2O 3. SiO 2f was fabricated and its damping capacity was studied in this paper. It was found that the damping capacity of the composite was lower than pure magnesium while its tensile strength was increased largely. And it was also found the annealing treatment and the heat recycling treatment could improve the damping capacity of magnesium matrix composite.
