Composition Design of Fe-Mn-Si Shape Memory Alloy

The effect of the composition of the alloys on the stacking fault energy was discussed.Combining the composition of the alloys with the structure of the alloys (Schaeffler figure),it is suggested that the composition design of ironbased shape memory alloy is reasonable.When adding Cr and Ni content reducing Mn content,the alloy possess lower stacking fault energy.When Si% is 6%,the stacking fault energy of alloy is the lowest.To obtain good SME,the intrinsic stacking fault energy of alloy should be as low as possible.If without special use, Cr% is less than 10%, Ni% TFZis Cr% / 1.7 which avoiding phase.The composition design of alloy has been discussed,the conclusion is that the principle should satisfy the following equation: NiEQ=-25/32 CrEQ+250.5(CrEQ19) NiEQ=24/25 CrEQ-4.280.5(CrEQ19)
