Luminescence and energy transfer of Eu~(2+),Mn~(2+) in CaZn_2(PO_4)_2

When Mn2+ doped to some interstitial substances,luminescence was very weak.So the appropriate sensitized substance was choosed to increase luminescence efficiency,The researchful purpose validate that Eu2+ is favorable sensitized substance of Mn2+.CaZn2(PO4)2:Eu2+,Mn2+ phosphor was synthesized by high temperature solid-state reaction,and its luminescence properties were investigated.When the sample doped single Eu2+,its emission peak locating at 504nm,which correspond to 5d-4f transition of Eu2+.The excitation peak locating at 380nm,which correspond to f-d broadband absorption of Eu2+.The sample which doped single Mn2+ was not luminescent,when it doped together Eu2+,Mn2+ : 673 nm emission peak of Mn2+ appeared,the phosphor show excellent red emission.It is suggested that Mn2+ ion is sensitized strongly by Eu2+ ion,The effect of the molar concentration of Eu2+ and Mn2+ on excitation and emission spectra were also studied.It demonstrated that the energy transfer between Eu2+ and Mn2+ is due to resonance energy transfer in CaZn2(PO4)2:Eu2+,Mn2+.
