Study on Modification of Conventional Polyvinylchloride Film by Plasma Surface Treatment

In glow discharge, conventional polyvinylchloride (PVC) membrane is modified by depositing plasma polymer of C_2H_2/CO_2 /H_2 onto PVC membrane surface. The morphology and structure of the modified membrane are observed by TEM amd FTIR Photoacoustic Spectra. The static contact angle of the membrane is measured. From the contact angle values, the interracial free energy between the membrane and water, surface free energy of the membrane and adhesive work are calculated. Moreover, the thermalstability of modified PVC film is also investigated.
