Preparation and Self-Assembly of Diblock Copolymer of Poly(tert-Butyl Acrylate)-b-Poly(N-Isopropylacrylamide)

Poly(tert-butyl acrylate)(PtBA-Cl) and poly(tert-butyl acrylate)-bpoly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PtBA-b-PNIPAM) were prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP)(using) CuCl / N,N,N′,N",N"-Pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as catalyst in the mixture solvent of butanone and 2-propanol.The structure of PtBA-b-PNIPAM was characterized by IR spectroscopy and()~1H-NMR.The behavior of thermo-responsive block copolymers in solution was investigated by TEM and DLS.It is indicated that volume phase transition temperature(VPTT) of micelle is at about 33 ℃.The particle size of the (micelle) tends to be decreased with the increasing of temperature.
