Determination of Rare Earth Elements in the Soil of Longnan Mine Area by ICP-AES

Objective: To establish the determination method for the content of rare earth elements in the soil of Longnan mine area by ICP-AES,and to analyze the correlation between the content of rare earth elements and the distance away from the mining area. Methods: HNO3-HCl-HF-H2O2 was used to digest the samples as acid system. The content of rare earth elements was determined in the soil samples by ICP-AES,which were in the surface soil,core layer soil,and subsoil in the longnan mining area,and 1 km,3 km,5 km,50 km and 80 km away from the longnan mining area. Results:Experiment reflected its characteristics of wide linear range,low detection limit and high sensitivity. The relative standard deviation and recoveries were 1. 34% ~ 4. 07%( RSD,n = 5) and 96. 5% ~ 104. 0%,respectively. Conclusion: This method is simple,flexible,reliable,and suitable for the determination of rare earth elements in Longnan soil samples.
