Synthesis and Luminescence Properties of YAG:Ce~(3+)

Yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG:Ce 3+ ),doped by cerium was synthesized by coprecipitation,and characterized by X-ray diffraction,excitation spectra and emission spectra.Its excitation spectra has two peaks.The major one at around 467nm,which matches the blue emission of InGaN LED very well.Its emission band is wide,from blue to red with emission peak at 550nm,which can combine the blue light of InGaN LED to yield bright white light.The luminescence properties of Y 3-x Ce xAl 5O 12 phosphors powder was also studied.
