Determination of Arsenic in Composite Baking Powder by Microwave Digestion-HG-AFS

A method was developed for the determination of arsenic in composite baking powder by microwave digestion-HG-AFS.The experimental conditions of microwave digestion of samples and of hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry for determination were optimized.The effect of the medium acid and amount of reducing agent on determination of arsenic and the interference from the coexistent elements in baking powder were discussed.A linear range is 0—100μg/L with a correlation coefficient 0.9992.The detection limit is 0.22μg/L.The recovery is in the range of 89%—115% and the relative standard deviation is less than 5%.The method was applied to the determination of arsenic in baking powder with satisfactory results.
