Near-Infrared Transmittance Measuring for Breakdown of Rice Starch

The 203 samples of rice were scanned by foss tecator infratec 1255,and their breakdown were determined by using RVA(Rapid Visco Analyzer).Several mathematics treatments to the sample spectra and several different regression methods were adopted to optimize a good calibration equation for determination of breakdown of rice.The standard error of calibration(SEC),standard error of cross-validation(SECV)and regression squared(RSQ)of the calibration selected were 10.62,10.8 and 0.984.The Corrected standard error of performance(SEP),average bias of the mean between reference value(BIAS)and 1 minus the variance ratio(1-VR)of cross validation were 6.139,-0.362 and 0.939.The NITS method has high accuracy in predicted tests of cross validation and independent validation.The method offers a new approach of testing viscosity properties of rice starch with quick,precise and non-destructive characters.
