Determination of Trace Arsenic in Seafood by Hydride Generation Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometry

A method was reported for the determination of trace arsenic in seafood by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry and comparison of different digestion methods in this paper.The effect of the medium and amount of acid and reducing agent on determination of As were investigated.The operationg condition of hydride generation was optimized.The interference from element formed hydride compound and coexistent elements in seafood were studied,too.In the given conditions,the liner range of determination is 0-80g/L and limit of detection is 0.3g/L.Standard reference substances mussel(GBW08571) and prawn(GBW08572) were determined by difference digestion methods.The results of two digestion methods were in good agreement with certified value.RSD is less than 3.9% and 2.8% respectively.The method is simple and accurate.It has been applied to the determination of As in imported seafood.
