Influence of modified TiO_2 film on photocatalytic degradation of salicylic acid

Photocatalysts made of TiO2 films were prepared with sol-gel technique.The influence of doping Fe and Ag ions into TiO2 film and its acid-treatment for film modification on its catalytic activity for photocatalytic degradation of salicylic acid was investigated.The effect of existence of minute H2O2 on the degrading reaction was also studied.Meanwhile,the kinetics of photocatalytic degradation of salicylic acid with modified film was studied,also.The result of experiment showed that the activity of all modified TiO2 films as photocatalysts were improved to a certain extent.The both TiO2 films modified with doping of Fe3+ and acid treatment had the most photocatalytic activity and the process of salicylic acid degradation with modified TiO2 film was consistent with first-order reaction.The existence of minute H2O2 made the efficiency of photocatalytic degradation with TiO2 film remarkably improved.
