3-D modeling of Francis turbine blade based on PRO/E

Aimed at the difficulties with 3-D modeling of blades of Francis turbine due to the complexity of the blade's shape,a new method of its 3-D modeling was introduced on the basis of 2-D wood on pattern drawing of Francis turbine blade by means of PRO/E to draw line from point,then draw surface from line finally get body of the blade from surface. To increase the accuracy of model,the inlet edge as well as the upper and lower canopy of runner blade were modified by means of blade cutting,so that the 3-D model of Francis turbine blade could be obtained in actual and accurate accordance with that given by its wooden pattern drawing.
