Purification of surface water by coagulation and ultrafiltration combination process

Coagulation and ultrafiltration combination process was adopted for the treatment of surface water in North China,combined with existing process,in order to provide technical reserve for new waterworks and reformation of old ones.The results showed that ultrafiltration(UF) had a good efficiency on the removal of turbidity,total bacteria,coliform,and total iron,but had a limited efficiency on the removal of organic matter with the molecular weight of more than 30 ku.The maximum cost of the UF unit was 0.27 Yuan/m3 based on the economic analysis of existing situation.
