Study on Mixed Solvent Extraction and Quantitative Determination of Lycopene

LU Shi-wu,LI Shi-weng(School of Chemical and Biological Engineering,Lanzhou Jiaotong University,Lanzhou 730070,China)
Lycopene was extracted with mixed solvent in this experiment.Dichloromethane-methanol(Vdichloromethane∶Vmethanol=2∶1) was selected as the extraction solvent. The quantitative determination of extracted liquid was studied by using the standard curve method. The optimal condition was obtained in the orthogonal experiment, that was under the temperature of 35℃,the ratio of tomato to liquid being 1∶6 and the duration of 90 minutes.Different varieties of tomato were quantitated by using this technics. The result shows that the lycopene content in cross-bred samples was evidently higher than that of self-bred samples.
