Analysis of Seismic Response of Asymmetric Twin-tower Connected Structures in Different Connection Ways

In order to investigate the response characteristics of asymmetric twin-tower connected structures under earthquakes,the modal analysis,the response spectrum analysis,the elastic time-history analysis and the elastoplastic time-history analysis were conducted using the software SAP2000 on three models with different connection ways.The first model is the structure without a joint corridor between two towers.And the other two models are the structures with a rigid collection or a damping connection between the joint corridor and towers.Results show that the stiffness and coordination are improved obviously after adding the joint corridor.The rigid connection can improve coordination more effectively,but in this condition the joint corridor and neighbouring components have complex stress states.The damping connection can appropriately enhance coordination,and the joint corridor bears a smaller force.So this kind of connection can improve the seismic behaviors of the seriously asymmetric twin-tower connected structures more reasonably.
