Analysis of Mechanical Properties of K-Type Eccentrically Braced Steel Frames with Cyclic Loading

Shear failure of the link beam of an eccentrically braced steel frame occurs with horizontal loading,5specimens with different lengths of the link beam were designed,and the analysis software ABAQUS was used to analyze the hysteresis behavior of the link beams with an inclined stiffener and without an inclined stiffener with the cyclic loading.The results shows that when the ratio of the length of the link beam to Mp/Vp is smaller and inclined stiffeners are added to the beam,the elastic displacement are expanded,and that the hysteresis curve becomes gentler and the energy dissipation capacity are increased whereas with the increase of the ratio,the elastic displacement decreases and the energy dissipation capacity becomes worse.
