Analysis of nutrition compositions of dried apple pulp and evaluation of their potentiality for feed

The nutrition compositions of dried apple pulp from 10 fruit juice factories of Shanxi province were determined with feed determination method issued in China. The results showed that water, crude protein, crude fat, crude fibre and crude ash are 77.8 %, 6.2 %, 6.8 %, 16.9 % and 2.3 %, respectively in dried apple pulp, Calaium 0.06 %, Phosphorue 0.06 %, total carbohydrate 15.8 %. Trace elements Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn and Se are 11.8, 158.0, 15.4, 14.0 and 0.08 mg/kg, respectively. Amino acid content is similar to that of dried sweet potato. Heary metal content and insecticide remainant are lower than health standard of feed and food in China. Thus, it is safe to use dried apple pulp as feed to pig, cattle, goat and sheep.
