Factors Affecting the Treatment of Landfill Leachate by Fenton Process

Test was made on the use of fenton process for treatment of landfill leachate at semi-continuous mode. The test results show that the established statistical model can not well fit the COD removal at early stage. Although TOC in the leachate is reduced with the fenton process, its removal efficiency is not so obvious as COD due to the increase of oxidation state in the oxidation process. When Fe 2+ dosage is constant at 0.044 mol/L, and H 2O 2/Fe 2+ dosing ratio is varied from 2.86~7.03, removal rate of COD has less change. When H 2O 2/Fe 2+ dosing ratio is constant at 4.0, COD removal rate is increased with the rising of H 2O 2 to initial COD molar ratio, which may be over 80%.
