Temperature-Dependent Polarized Raman Study of D- and L-Alanine Single Crystals

Vibration spectra of D- and L-alanine single crystals were studied by Raman spectroscopy at temperatures ranging from 200 to 300 K. It has been found that the unpolarized Raman spectra of D- and L-alanine are similar. The laser beams with different polarization have different selection rules for Raman spectra of D-Alanine. It was not observed a phase transition from D- to L-alanine predicted by A. Salam around 250K in Raman spectra.
