Study on the Rheological Behavior of Alumina Slurries

The present paper delt with a comprehensive analysis of the dispersion behavior of alumina powders by using rheological measurements to determine accurate conditions for stable slurries.Results show that the addition of dispersant is related to solid concentration of the slurry.The high-solid concentration of alumina suspension is shear-thickening liquid.The optimum pH band for 50vol%~60vol%slurries is 11~12.
