The Role of Oxygen in Grain Boundary of BaTiO_ 3-Based PTCR

PTCRceramics were prepared by BaTiO_ 3based powderwith codopants synthesizedby citrate sol-gel process. Some samples were heat-treated in argon, the test results revealed thatoxygen could effectively improve PTC effect. Thegrain boundary and grainof typical sample were quantitativelyanalyzed by EDS,itshows that the content of oxygen in grain boundary is obviously higher than that of interior of grain, so as to exceed the summation of donors and acceptors. The influence of oxygen on grain boundary potential barrier was discussed by the layer-shapedoxygen adsorption model.
