Progress in Liquid-Phase Synthesis of Nanosized Titanium Oxide

The preparation processes and their features for several methods to synthesize nanosized titania in liquid-phase, including liquid-phase precipitation, hydrolysis, Sol-Gel method, hydrothermal method, microemusification and the single-step liquid phase are reviewed. By analysis and comparison, the single-step liquid phase takes advantage over the others, because nanosized rutile TiO_2 powder, with well-dispersed and high photocatalytic activity, can be achieved by this method at lower temperature and normal pressure, and the high temperature calcinations process needn’t be used as well.
