Effect of Different Preparation Methods on the Properties of Al-pillared Montmorillonite

In this paper,Al-pillared montmorillonites were prepared utilizing different methods.Products were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction and N_2 adsorption-desorption to systematically analysis the influences of different preparation methods.Test results show specific surface areas of Al-piUarod montmoriUonites prepared by normal and inverse striking methods are both larger than original ones. Sample prepared by normal striking method has 0.7nm,0.9nm pore distribution with large volume,while the one prepared by inverse striking method has 0.7nm,0.8nm pore distribution with minor volume. Intercalated pillar interacted with tetrahedral sheets reduce capacity of rehydration.
