Research and Development of Toughening of Ceramic Matrix Composites by Piezoelectric Ceramic Particles

In this paper the research and development of ceramic matrix composites toughened by piezoelectric ceramic particles are discussed,emphasizing on the toughening mechanism and the effect of polarization and different techniques on the toughening behavior.The analysis indicates that it is perspective to develop an appropriate piezoelectric material with low-cost,good sintering character and compatibility with matrix and to find out a suitable preparation technology.
