Study on Experimental Preparation of Cement Mortar Incorporating Fly Ash-soda Residue

Soda residue from ammonia-soda process was taken as admixture substituting for fly-ash to prepare building mortar.The physical and mechanical properties of fly ash-cement mortar and soda residue-cement mortar were studied.The results showed that soda residue-cement mortar has similar physical and mechanical properties with that of fly ash-cement mortar,especially for fly ash and soda residue as compound admixture of mortar.When equivalent replacement of cement with soda residue and fly ash reaches 30%,and the radio of fly ash and soda residue is 2:1,the fly ash-soda residue-cement mortar showed the best mechanical performance similar to cement mortar under similar experimental conditions,and with better workability.Therefore soda residue can total or partly substitute fly ash as mortar admixture with remarkable economic efficiency and environmental protection benefit.
