Preparation of Monodispersed Large Particle Size Colloidal Silica

Monodispersed large particle size colloidal silica was prepared via hydrolysis of silicon powder.The influence of synthesis conditions on the particle size and PDI were systematically investigated,including reaction temperature,reaction time,added amount of silicon powder and the concentration of Na OH.The optimum reaction conditions were: reaction temperature was 70 ℃,reaction time was 12 h,added amount of silicon powder was 21 g and the concentration of Na OH was 0.5wt%.The particle size of colloidal silica prepared under the optimum condition was 20 nm,after several growth stages,the particle size could reach 90 nm and monodispersed.
